Recently, Nintendo has released its first three month earnings of the existing fiscal year beside also updated its sales statistics for the Switch. According to the report, as of 30th June the company sold almost 19.67 million Switch consoles that mean the actual figure is expected to have reached approx 20 million already.

Now Nintendo is still forecasting that it will sell about 20 million units in the year which starting from April 2018 and ending in March 2019. Therefore the company has sold only 1.88 million after the three months which is slightly down year on year basic, although the holiday season will be noticeably busier for the company with some key titles like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and also the two Pok√©mon: Let’s Go games set for release.

On the whole, this quarter Nintendo made an operating profit of almost 30.5 billion yen ($275 million) off profits of 168 billion yen ($1.51 billion), and also an year-on-year enhancement of 88.4 percent and approximately 9.1 percent respectively. However, the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has connected Super Mario Odyssey as the Switch’s second title to easily break 10 million sold units, and this quarter The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is probably to do the same.
